Dr. Peter Goh, founder of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia, is in private practice at Paragon Medical Centre and Gleneagles Hospital and has recently been appointed as Full Professor by Monash University in Australia. He is internationally well known for his contribution in laparoscopic surgery for stomach, esophagus and colon cancer. He also pioneered neeldescopic surgery for sweating disorders and many obesity reduction procedures. Dr Goh has over 130 published international scientific papers, 25 book chapters in medical textbooks and has held leadership positions in many international organizations and medical conferences.
Dr Cheng-Kiong Kum is the President of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (Singapore chapter). He was the leader of the Singapore International Foundation Specialist Team to Vietnam from 1997-2002. He was an Associate Professor of Surgery in the National University of Singapore. He’s known to be the pioneer of N.O.T.E.S (Natural Orifice Transluminal Surgery) and SILS (Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery). He’s currently the Congress President for the 10th Asia Pacific Congress of Endoscopic Surgery which will be held in Singapore in August 2011.
